We arrived in the Dominican Republic and are starting our project: how to relax for $ 1000 for two. First of all, we exchange money and look for a minibus to the resort.

Our cruise Dolce Vita is over! We left the liner ashore in the large Dominican city of La Romana. Having hoisted our backpacks on our shoulders, we stumbled into the city center in search of an ATM and a minibus to the neighboring resort village. The Dominican Republic is an unreasonably expensive country, so if you want to keep within $ 1000 for a vacation, forget about a taxi.

By the way, we did not have time to go ashore, and in the wallet there was no longer enough $ 20 - this is the official fee for the right to enter the country.

In half an hour we reached the center from the port and found an ATM, but he did not want to give out the money. We exchanged currency at the lottery office next door, the exchange rate is normal.

It was not easy to find a minibus to the resort: the sun is hot, our Spanish is limited, and the locals do not speak English. We asked passers-by, and they always sent us somewhere else. So, step by step, we described a decent circle along the central streets of the city and eventually found a minibus exactly at the starting point of the route of our search. Well, such is the life of an economical traveler, spinning like a squirrel in a wheel.

The minibus, as it should be in developing countries, was packed to the limit. Well, as they say, in cramped quarters, but not offended. We arrived in 20 minutes, then the same amount went to the hotel. Mission Complete!
